EZY SLIMTOP - The new generation of desktop computers was unveiled to Sri Lanka and the world when Dubai based EZY Infotech who set up operations through the BOI in February 2009, launched their first computer, the slim in size and slim in price EZY Slim Top for just Rs. 29,990.00 Present as Guest of Honour at the occasion was the Minister of Science and Technology, Professor Tissa Vitharana.

What's more, it comes with a 16" LCD monitor, space saving designs and most importantly, a unique packaging system where you could just carry it off any purchasing point as though you've gone grocery shopping" said Director Asia Pacific Operations and Chief Executive EZY Infotech-Sri Lanka, Shafraz Hamzadeen, speaking at the launch.

Mr.Hamzadeen said that this was a first for Sri Lanka and he was convinced that its superior features would soon make it a 'must' for both the domestic as well as the corporate user. "It is both slim in size and slim in price; it is in fact half the size of a traditional desk top and is powered by Intel Atom technology. The Uniquely designed casing enables more air intake and less heat generation which results in Iess power being consumed when using the EZY SlimTop". Mr. Hamzadeen further added that the increased energy efficiency would ensure that the computer doesn't stop being affordable just at the point of purchase, but throughout its lifespan at a consumer's desk. "We care about our customers, and in today's tough times the least we could do to help them would be to make available a computer that consumes less than 50% power when compared to that of a traditional computer"

Apart from the local distributors who were present, namely Managing Director Scalene Holdings, Mr Jude Joseph [who will be the Value Added Distributor] and Managing Director Brown & Company, Mr Murali Prakash [who will be the Master Retailer], in Sri Lanka for the launch was Managing Director of Decent Computers of Karachi, Mr Asif Shehzad and also a representative of Optimum Technologies of Lahore, both of whom made an initial purchase of 500 numbers of EZY Slim Tops .

EZY's range of computers has been carefully designed to suit its target markets. The tag branding strategy of EZY would make it easy for customers to relate to EZY products. Incorporated in February this year by EZY Global Holdings [the parent company] by signing an agreement with the Board of Investment, EZY Infotech is Sri Lanka's first state of the art computer manufacturing facility.

"The reason for this was to introduce our own brand of computers, EZY, whilst manufacturing computers which are on par with reputed international brands for both the local as well as international market".

The manufacturing plant which is set up in Ratmalana is fully automated, with each computer bearing the 'Manufactured in Sri Lanka' tag. Both branded personal computers as well as laptops will be manufactured at the EZY Ratmalana facility. "It is our intention to make available a product that lasts and performs at higher optimum levels than that of the average computer that is currently being purchased by Sri Lankans at their closest computer store" said Hamzadeen.
